HELP US TO HELP THOSE WITH LUNG DISEASE - SUPPORT THE BRITISH LUNG FOUNDATION
A statement by the British Lung Foundation:
The British Lung Foundation is the only UK charity working for everyone affected by lung disease. The charity focuses its resources on providing support for people affected by lung disease today; and works in a variety of ways (including funding world-class research) to bring about positive change, to improve treatment, care and support for people affected by lung disease in the future.

Aims of the British Lung Foundation:
  • To support people living with lung disease
  • To provide public information on lung disease and good lung health
  • To raise funds for research into the diagnosis, treatment, prevention and cure of all diseases of the lung
The success of fund-raising
Presentation of cheque for £1000 to BLF
During Breathe Easy Week in June 2007 Weaver Vale MP Mike Hall presented, on behalf of Breathe Easy Halton, a cheque for £1,000 donated for research into lung disease to the British Lung Foundation. In the photograph, Daphne Barton (right of centre and now retired), then Support and Development Manager of the British Lung Foundation North-West Region is receiving the cheque. Members of Breathe Easy Halton and health professionals form the supporting group. From February 2006 to June 2009 the total donated by the Group for research amounted to £8,671.
Key roles of Breathe Easy Halton:
  • To encourage mutual support for people living with and affected by a lung condition
  • To raise awareness of the BLF and Breathe Easy amongst the general public, health professionals and people with lung disease
  • To support the BLF research programme through fund raising
  • To promote the aims of the BLF through active campaigning
