Meetings and Activities

The meeting is informal and refreshments are provided. There is an raffle with tickets five for a £1. All are welcome to Group Meetings.

The meeting is informal and often followed by a talk given by a guest speaker on a lung disease topic, its treatment or a related subject. From time to time the topic could be remote from medical matters and of local or general interest.  A question and answer session with the speaker follows.  Refreshments are available and a raffle is usually held for several prizes.

The usual business of the Group meeting is to make members aware of forthcoming events & occasions and to seek their support.  The meeting is an excellent opportunity to meet with others to share common experiences and pass on and receive helpful advice particular to ones own situation.

Events and Functions

Apart from the Group meetings events such as a Quiz Night are held from time to time.  Last May Group members, relatives and friends were generously sponsored to take part in the North Wirral Coastal Walk a distance of 15 miles from Seacombe to Thurstaston.  Money was raised not only for the Group Funds, but also the British Lung Foundation and the charitable aims of the organisers of the walk the Rotary Club of North Wirral. Another regular annual event is a Christmas Lunch held at a hotel in the area. Other events such as days out and theatre visits are also arranged for Group members, their relatives and friends.
